Family blogs that I checked weekly have been inactive for quite some time now. Even my blog has remained quiet, not by my choice but by a glitch on the posting. I find I can no longer post photos and after trying all ways to fix the problem I am unable to post. Blogspot has not offered any help with this matter even after numerous requests for solutions. So it is with sadden heart that Southern Style will no longer continue to post. What is the use of posting when I can't show the beautiful photos that made this blog what it was. If you are interested in seeing the lovely charity quilts that graced this blog you can visit my Pinterest page, my FaceBook page or Google The World of Charity Stitching Group. <br />
Thank you dear readers for spending time in my little part of blog land, it was fun...<br />

Another Lovely Lady is now finished... My Cereal Dolly Mama is now finished. I had to hurry her up a little as I knew I would be spending all day at the hospital waiting for hubby to wake up. He had to have another heart cath done. I finished this lady and framed up another one for my day yesterday. All the nurses were asking about my Dolly's They thought she was cute. I told them all my Dolly's would one day be made into a quilt for my bed. Also since I have some extra Dolly kits we decided that our charity group would be stitching up some for a quilt for a senior next year, how fun.<br />

So last month I pulled another kit out and started working on it... Well, with taking care of things around the house, quilting, sewing and then getting so sick my Dolly was put aside. Now that I am pretty much recovered from my surgery I picked up Dolly and once again started stitching. This one for some reason took me forever but she is done and has joined the growing group of Dolly Mamas that are hanging out in the sewing room, patiently waiting to be turned into a quilt. I think I counted 6 more kits waiting to be stitched. I will make this Quilt with all my Dolly Mamas, I will put it on my bed, and I can't wait to see hubby's expression when I do... He thinks my lovely Dolly Mamas are so ugly.. and he dosen't really think I will make them into a quilt for our bed... HA he should know me better by now....I am driven to finish this project...<br />

</div>
<br />
<div>
It is that time of the year when the weather turns just a little bit
cooler... Even here in Florida we get some of the Fall color, not from the trees
showing their colors, but from other sources. I bought three lovely Mum bushes
which occupy the planters on my porch, rich burgundy, shades of orange and a
lovely yellow add just the perfect Fall touch to the porch. I use to decorate
the front of the house for Halloween, or should I say the grand kids decorated,
but not this year. The kids are getting older and not into that anymore so
instead I just add some Mums and maybe a pumpkin or two and be done. No more
skeletons, ghosts, witches, skulls or spooky music, besides where we live there
is very little activity on Trick or Treat night. Guess the houses are just to
far apart.. I will still have a cauldron full of treats just in case that
princess or pirate, ghost or goblin rings the bell. For my Halloween decorations I am just
putting out the dogs... My Halloween dogs that is...</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
I was at Cracker Barrel
Restaurant a few months ago and they had these adorable dogs on sale.. I just
had to get them.. bought a set for me and one for Melanie as she still decorates
for the holidays.</div>
<div>
I really think the main reason I go to Cracker Barrel is to shop at the
country store... or maybe not, might be the ham dinner... or the breakfast or
maybe their corn bread... NO I really think it is the store... they have
something for everyone there.... and the store is always changing according to
the season... and their sales are fantastic... plus I love the shirts I get
there, great quality...and who can not remember something in the nostalgic
candies they have there, I love the Nesco wafers.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So for creativity this past month, well not to much got done as I was
recuperating from my surgery and not allowed to lift, push or pull. So when the
doc gave me the go ahead of returning to my crafting this is what I did.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just love this top... the ladies stitched veggies, I had Veggie fabric and a lovely red checked fabric that reminded me of a table cloth. Perfect for the Veggie quilt.. But then it needed just that special touch and I added two Chefs. They are Anita Goodesign embroidery designs and are just the touch this quilt needed..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also made this Tiger quilt. The designs are by AZ embroidery Barn and are just precious.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tiger fabric frames the little guys, a jungle print is the sashing and Hunter Khaki frames the top, the back will be Wild cats.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am now allowed to return to the quilting machine so my Lizzy has been loaded and my Mom's watercolor quilt has finally been quilted. I just need a binding and it will be on the way to my son. The basket quilt is one of two quilts that my Mom and I made together, I will post a photo when I get the binding on it. </div>

Last month some of the grand kids came for a visit and the first thing they headed for was the puppy play pen. At the time we had two litters of puppies which were born two weeks apart. The grand kids love playing with the puppies and they each grabbed their favorite. Of course there is always the "Nana, can I please have a puppy" to which I reply that they have two dogs and their mommy and daddy think that is enough. For the most part just saying that is enough, but not this time. This time our normally quiet and shy Becca let her feeling be know. She wanted a puppy so bad and kept begging me to let her take one home. She had her favorite and even decided on a name. I told her that her daddy didn't want another dog. But she begged and begged. You could see the wheels turning as she tried her best to talk me into letting her take that puppy home. But she left with out her new friend. That weekend we stopped by her house and saw Phillip, he knew of Becca's wish and of course thanked us. Guess Becca saw her dad as the bad guy who wouldn't say Yes. But she was not finished in her venture. Phillip said that she was in the house as we spoke and she was on the Internet looking up how to instructions... what subject you ask... Well, it was " how to talk you dad into letting you have a puppy" Yep, she was a determined little girl.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We thought it was all over and that she had forgotten about the puppy, but a week later she came up with a plan. She said we could keep the puppy at our house for her and she would come and visit him. </div>

Things here are busy as usual... been a hectic month so far.. Last month I put together some quilt tops for my charity group and family members but I haven't gotten a chance to quilt them. Last month I again started having chest pains and just a general not feeling good at all type of month. But things still had to continue around the house, and hubby just doesn't have it in him to be of help to me with house or yard things. So I was bad and put it off, just hoping it would all go away. It didn't and I finally got to the point that I needed to have it all checked out. So a visit was scheduled with my heart doctor or should I say his assistant. We discussed various options and I opted to have a heart cath done.. as I knew something was terribly wrong. Good thing that is the way I approached it all as on the 9th of Sept. the heart cath was done and there was another blockage. A stent was inserted and new meds were prescribed. After spending a trying day in the hospital I went home that night feeling so much better.. No more pain or dread.. I felt alive and refreshed. I was put on restrictions for 10 days and wasn't allowed to do much around the house and no yard work. Hubby managed to get the mower out and cut the grass.. but I wish he would have let me pay someone to come in a do it as he shouldn't be out there in the heat trying to do that work. I am still on restrictions with no pulling or pushing or lifting over 20 lbs. But things need to get done and so I will take it easy and try to get some things done and see how it all works out. I wish my son lived closer as then I wouldn't have to worry about any of this as he would be here taking care of things for me. But he is in PA and we are in FL... so no help there. I did ask Sean's girls if they could help their dad around the hospital the day of my procedure and his daughter Mel stepped up to the plate. She spent the night at the house and the next day she went with us. She looked after her dad while I was getting ready for the procedure. Her husband also stopped by to see how I was before the procedure.. and later that day he picked Mel up and took her shopping and stopped by to see how I was doing after the test. Mel's step daughter Nikki also stopped by as we waited for my scheduled time, she works at the hospital in the pharmacy.<br />
<br />
Yesterday I had my follow up appt. and things seems to be doing well. I was told that there are small blockages in my heart and that I will need to be on a blood thinner the rest of my life. I just need to be aware of any issues I might have and take care of them in a timely manner and not wait like I did this time. To many chances of having another heart attack and to many chances that it could take my life away. <br />
<br />
I can now get back to my quilting, sewing and crafts... I have numerous quilt tops ready to be quilted. I am also in the process of making some items for a online friend who owns a embroidery design site. Her designs are fantastic and one day I hope to tell you more about her work and host a giveaway featuring her designs. I made a baby quilt with her frog designs for her and I am now making a baby tiger baby quilt for her sister in law and also a cameo and lady quilt for her mother. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kV4tmjyDK8o/UjxvDW07IfI/AAAAAAAACp8/K7VE7TKQ6hw/s1600/P7190108.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kV4tmjyDK8o/UjxvDW07IfI/AAAAAAAACp8/K7VE7TKQ6hw/s320/P7190108.JPG" width="314" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now that I am using my Tin Lizzy all the time I listed and sold my Nellie Belle (Bailey 15" pro quilter) to a local lady. I had met them at a Anita Goodesign event and her mother knew I quilted and asked if I would be taking quilt projects for other people. Well, she came with her daughter when she bought the machine and she brought a quilt she wants me to quilt for her. I broke down and told her to leave it that I would quilt it for her. I really wasn't thinking of doing quilts for others as I am always afraid that I will mess up their quilt. But this lady was determined that she wanted me to quilt her special quilt. I even mentioned that her daughter had just bought a quilting machine and she said no she wanted me to quilt her quilt. <br />
<br />
So I guess that is about it for now.. I am off to the sewing room... Hope you all have a great weekend. Oh and a special thanks to all of you who sent get well cards, I loved them all. It was so nice that you thought of me and it made me feel really special to know you cared. <br />
<br />
<br />

Then there is Skeeter, he was the runt of the litter, the one we didn't think would make it. He is the one we bottle fed, the one for weeks never gained a ounce. He is now a healthy boy just tiny and so spoiled.. Of course after spending all that time and effort to make sure this guy got a fighting chance, he has a home with us. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As many of my regular readers know I belong to a on line charity group called The <a href="http://www.worldofcharitystitching.blogspot.com/">World of Charity Stitching Group</a>.. they come up with themes each month for ill children, seniors in nursing homes, abused women and children, and cancer patients. Many times these themes are animal themes.. so here are just a few of my charity quilts both finished and delivered and some still in the works..</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
YEP we have a few puppies on quilts and many pet or animal themed quilts that I make for WOCS group.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As for pet shelter beds and quilts.. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I make mini quilts for each puppy to take to their new homes, I make sure to get the litter mates and their mom's scent on the quilts so it will calm the pups when they get to their new home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't make beds for our local shelter as they have a man who makes PVC pipe and canvas beds and they use old towels.. so we donate our old towels and we try to take a 50 lb bag of food in each month to our shelter and many times we stop at the Dollar Tree store and pick up doggie toys for the shelter animals.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Taking food and toys to the shelter is so appreciated by the shelters as most work on a very limited budget... oh and don't forget the treats... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

This has been a busy sewing week for me... I finished a fish quilt for a young man who is in the hospital in Washington State getting Chemo. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mitch's Quilt</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love the fabric I choose for the background as it looked like water and what better for the little fishes</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UNDjNoCGpvE/Ugax90ZXMeI/AAAAAAAAClM/OfQB-7wQp0A/s1600/P8100048.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="262" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UNDjNoCGpvE/Ugax90ZXMeI/AAAAAAAAClM/OfQB-7wQp0A/s320/P8100048.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is another request Charity quilt for a 22 year old girl with MS. she saw one of the chicken quilts that was made for the nursing home while visiting her grandmother, she loves chicken as she use to help her grandpa take care of his chickens. WOCS members stitched the chickens for her quilt, love the chicken fabric I found for this quilt</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Another quilt made for WOCS using donated 4 season squares and members stitched the other squares for the quilt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This quilt I am so proud of, Members had stitched ladybugs and we got enough for three quilts, this quilt uses all the silly ladybugs.. This is my 100th quilt that I have sewn, assembled, quilted and finished for The World of Charity Group that I belong to.. Being that it marks a special number I decided that it needed to be a special quilt.. so I thought funny ladybugs on a ladybug, how cute it that.. This quilt will go to a child either at Ronald McDonald house or the Abuse shelter when finished.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This quilt is a twin size for my grandson Jack... he requested Star of David as the embroidery design and wanted shades of blue.. I just need to quilt it and deliver to him.. This will finish the quilts for daughter # 2s family.. The other five quilts for the kids were delivered weeks ago, Jack didn't make up his mind till he saw those quilts. Next will be quilts for my Son's daughters.. Just taking them one family at a time..</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I try to make two quilts for the babies.. one is a texture quilt like this one or a flannel rag quilt and then the Mom's get to choose a theme for the second baby quilt,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cats were delivered to the Santa Rosa Kids House... One of the volunteer had contacted me and requested some stuffed animals for the children. The members of The World of Charity Stitching group once again stepped up to the plate and they stitched the cat faces and the hug me signs. My self and another member sewed up the bodies, I stuffed, fluffed, and added a bow and the cats were ready to go.. So on to the next project... I am currently working on a quilt for a young man in Washington state who has leukemia. His quilt will be in the mail this week...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Em's surgery</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On another note, my grand daughter has a cyst on her finger and years ago it was removed. It came back and again it was removed... The next time they removed it they cut to the bone, took fat and skin, did a graft and just messed up her finger.. Well, the cyst stayed away for quite some time... But it is back.. and her parents took her to the doctors once again.. This time they were referred to Shands in Gainsville and a tumor specialist examined her hand yesterday. Today they did the surgery and she is now home and on the mend...</div>

Monday was spent at the hospital with me getting tests done.. When we came home I ended up sleeping most of the evening away thanks to the meds they gave me.. But results came in by the end of the week and things are all OK.. <br />
<br />
Then there was a Delivery Day to the nursing home... I took 8 quilts and some walker bags to Berryhill center, needless to say there were lots of smiling faces when they got their quilts. Mel made the delivery to Century Care Center and the residents there almost run her down when she arrives with the quilts.. <br />
<br />
Here are some of the ones that were delivered... these are the ones I made using the stitched square the World of Charity Stitching group sent me... <br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I often wonder on the puppies and which sex are the smartest.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
seems the girls always win. This little girl has learned that she can climb the sides of the playpen, she just hasn't gotten brave enough to make the leap. She has also learned that she can bite the sides and make a hole... so far I have been one step ahead of her... But it is always the females who are the escapees...from the puppy pens... </div>

Puppies ready to go</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I know I am bad at updating my blog sometimes, but I do get around to it in time... I love posting about the puppies and the happenings around here, things I like to make and most of all I love showing off the beautiful quilts I make for The World of Charity Group. I love showing off the counted cross stitch I make and the ones the WOCS ladies send here, so much work and love go into those stitches... But really, am I one of a dying breed? So many of the blogs I use to read now lay dormant, the writers haven't posted in months... Even our daughters have stopped posting their daily events and photos... Oh how I miss those posts, I loved reading about the escapades of the kids and grand kids, seeing a glimpse into their world.. But now the blogs are quiet, no more photos or posts fill my mailbox.. because they seem to be hooked on Facebook... Which is OK now and then I guess... but really a photo, a few words and that is it... where is the story, where are all the photos that helped bring the story to life... GONE... I want to see the projects the family are doing, I want to see the kids as they head out to a dance, or even if it is just the daily activities around the house. I loved reading Jenny's blog as she had a way adding humor into her writing that makes me smile. Seems like the only people that are writing on their blog now days are the ones who will share instructions or tutorials for a craft... and there are the ones who host contests to bring more readers to their site... There are also those Moms that have made a job of blogging about products, giving reviews and hosting giveaways, what a great way to get items for their families, but those too have started to disappear. I guess I don't care if my blog is popular, or read by friends and family, I write it for me, a way to tell my story, my life, my love of making things, a way of documenting my charity work. Maybe one day one of the grand kids will take the time to read about their Nana and learn more about her.. I only wish blogging was around when my grandma was alive, I would have loved to learn more about her..<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When it rains it pours... this is so true around my house lately... As you read a month ago our fridge stopped working and had to be replaced... now this was just after replacing the riding mower and the power washer... so I thought things always worked in threes and we would be good to go for at least a year... But OH NO... just isn't going to happen.... what now I asked...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was vacuuming the floor and there was more coming out of the machine then going in... Have no clue why it is doing that... nothing clogged... Then the other morning I turned on the TV and there is this large border at the top of the screen... so my first thought it was the service, but no after checking things it is the TV... What ever happened to products lasting longer then a few years... OH YEAH that's right most things are made as disposable now days... I still have a OLD TV from over 25 years ago that works just fine, but the one we got less then 7 years ago is now on the fritz.. Are there any TV repairmen left and is it worth fixing a TV or can they even be fixed? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So yesterday we headed out to shop for a new TV and vacuum... Hubby went a little larger on the TV size which now means he either needs to adjust the TV cabinet or we need a new one of those too, we will see as we will be setting up the TV today sometime.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Slight glitch in the system, just could not get the computer to work the way it should, waiting for the tech at Shirley Stitcher company to call back again.. We think it might be a bad connection cable.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Update: Susan borrowed a cable and dropped it off last night... of course I had to give it a try, and YES that seems to be the problem.. Susan will be back today to finish install and she will be ordering a new cable. At least I hope that was the only problem, but Susan will check it out and get my Lizzy running like a charm</div>

Last week I attended a Anita Goodesign Embroidery Party at Susan's Sew and Vac.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was my first time ever attending a embroidery event and I must say I had a lot of fun. There was a Representative from Anita Goodesign who showed lots of examples of items that can be created using their designs. There were embroidery machines set up at the tables and you worked in groups of 5 on two projects. My group consisted of a mother, daughters, and niece who all happened to be teachers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now I have bought many designs from Anita Goodesign to use in my quilts. I love the way the sew out and they way my finished items look using their designs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SjXSOy6WX7k/Ucg_4qxI_bI/AAAAAAAACgA/WqilbTEijuo/s1600/210977_10150542462247022_593997798_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SjXSOy6WX7k/Ucg_4qxI_bI/AAAAAAAACgA/WqilbTEijuo/s320/210977_10150542462247022_593997798_o.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was a baby quilt for a niece who wanted frogs and dragonflies,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The design pack was Spring Curls</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-bFlJFwmqk/UchANLkQA1I/AAAAAAAACgI/Bn-4m0glJRI/s1600/Becca.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-bFlJFwmqk/UchANLkQA1I/AAAAAAAACgI/Bn-4m0glJRI/s320/Becca.JPG" width="263" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These beautiful flowers were also from the spring curls designs CD and they went into a quilt for one of my grand daughters.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gS6bQHg66mY/UchAb4xnprI/AAAAAAAACgY/GocNIWdzPNM/s1600/558500_10151583439896703_1264902720_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gS6bQHg66mY/UchAb4xnprI/AAAAAAAACgY/GocNIWdzPNM/s320/558500_10151583439896703_1264902720_n.jpg" width="247" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is one of the latest designs packs and I bought it at the party. I have always wanted a quilt with the Mariner's compass but never thought I could get the quilt block done the right way. Now Anita Goodesign has made it easy for me, I can't wait to get started on this project.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Xv4WjqSgVOQ/UchBL4z9EPI/AAAAAAAACgg/Dh6SAaDH5eM/s1600/floral_rings_front2-109899_160x225.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Xv4WjqSgVOQ/UchBL4z9EPI/AAAAAAAACgg/Dh6SAaDH5eM/s1600/floral_rings_front2-109899_160x225.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also fell in love with a beautiful quilt they had hanging on the wall, it was made using the Floral Rings designs CD. I know my Mother in Law will love this quilt on her bed, but then so will I.. so Yep I bought that one too..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, I really didn't buy the two disks above... I joined the Diamond Club at Anita Goodesign, which means I will be getting a Full collection and a mini collection every month... Plus for signing up at the event I got the two special editions CD pictured about... PLUS 10 Design collections, all together they are valued at over 800 dollars. Plus I also received the sample CD for attending the party, plus when I ordered my club membership I received a disk with 5 retired collections valued at over 300 dollars... Plus when you sign up for a club you get the start up kit which has retired collections and there are over 757 designs on that disk... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and I was a winner of a sample collection door prize drawing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I though about the $ 58.00 monthly club membership but realized how much I was getting for that price and it is a great deal. a full collection sells for $ 69.95 and the Mini collections sells for $ 39.95 so even there it makes the membership a good value, but with all the extra designs you get the membership is a great value.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There is a Diamond club, with embroidery designs, a Quilting Club with all quilting design packs, and you can up grand to a Platinum and get the project Cd's with either diamond or quilting memberships... or there is the top of the line VIP membership which is the best value and that is the one I will be going for next year as it wasn't in the budget for this year...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now to just find the time to sew all these projects that are in my head using my new designs..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-abYQLWLChGk/UbzOSQqyNXI/AAAAAAAACfQ/yDABZMOgW2U/s1600/Standalone_1175X1290.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-abYQLWLChGk/UbzOSQqyNXI/AAAAAAAACfQ/yDABZMOgW2U/s320/Standalone_1175X1290.jpg" width="291" /></a>This year it seems that many of the main items around the house are breaking down.. First it was the riding mower and you just need to cut the grass so a replacement was found. My power washer was on the fritz so it was replaced. Then the AC/Furnace unit and it had to be replaced and in Florida while a heater is not always needed the AC unit is a must.. Now the fridge decided it wanted to act up, The first time it got warm I thought it might be the control knob getting bumped so I adjusted it and the fridge was OK. Three weeks later again the fridge was getting warm... freezer was OK but the top half of fridge was getting warm. Hubby decided that it was time to replace so off shopping for a new refrigerator. We headed to Lowe's and this is the one we decided on. We had a delightful salesman who did a price check and found a lower price at another store so he did a price match, plus the major appliances had a gift card promotion depending on the amount of the appliance, and the final incentive was free delivery and they hauled away the old one.. oh and one last thing, the power company gave us a rebate on a energy efficient appliance.</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lowe's has been our replacement store for most of these items... We found the sales staff at Lowes to be most informed on their products and they made sure we got the best prices around. Looks like the next thing to go will be the hot water heater.. I had also planned on new tile flooring this year as the laminate flooring is looking bad, But with all these replacements I guess I just have to put up with the shabby floor a little longer. You can bet when we replace the water heater or the flooring we will be shopping at Lowes. </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Sears VS Lowes</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We shopped around for the best prices and while we were planning on Sears for the purchases they had the worst salesman and policy's. Our first encounter was the Heating and AC salesman who came to the house and measured and gave a estimate that was so high, when we thanked him and told him we were shopping around and getting more then one estimate, he left without saying a word.. guess he was upset because we didn't buy from him right then.. Sears called to ask why we didn't make the purchase and we told them we were getting estimates and how rude their salesman was , we were told they would send another salesman out with better prices as they wanted our business. Guess what, the same salesman showed up... We didn't say anything about his being rude and this time his estimate was higher then before.. We brought that to his attention and he said he didn't remember, but a few minutes later he corrected my husband on a number so we knew he had the old estimate on his computer.. We thanked him and told him again we were getting estimates and again he just left, no thank you for letting me come to your home and listening to my proposal, Nothing, he just walked out the door.. Such a rude man and because of him Sears lost the sale of a heating and AC unit. When the mower died we stopped by the local Sears store and the man there who said he was the manager told us we could get a better price if we waited till Monday as they were starting a new promotion.. How nice of him we thought, to tell us of the sale. We returned that Monday and the manager wasn't there, his brother was and when he started the paper work the price was not what we were told it would be, plus the free delivery would now cost $ 75.00. So once again Sears lost a large sale as we headed to Lowes and while there I also replaced my power washer. Now when we were at Sears store and hubby was looking at mower I was checking out the refrigerators, but when my fridge died we decided to head to Lowes first as we knew they would get us the best deal.. Sorry Sears you lost out again.. Must be nice to have a company that doesn't need to sell product or to train their employees on customer relations. I did write to Sears and informed them on how their staff had lost sales for them and how they might need to think about training their staff on customer service, but the corporate store must not care as no one responded. So Sears is no longer our hometown store. From now on we will shop Lowes as they know how to treat their customers right.. So if you are thinking of shopping at Sears you might want to check out your local Lowes store as you will get the best deals and the staff really takes the time to give the best customer service possible.</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For us Lowes was the Winner</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

Today was the day that Peggy and I delivered the three quilts to the Baptist Cancer Center at their annual event.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uDHXBi8oI8Y/Uaqdj-M5iPI/AAAAAAAACdQ/XYltM-qt7m8/s1600/P5310018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uDHXBi8oI8Y/Uaqdj-M5iPI/AAAAAAAACdQ/XYltM-qt7m8/s320/P5310018.JPG" width="277" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is one of the quilts, WOCS members cross stitched words of encouragement sent the squares to me and I used dusty rose, hot pink and pink rose fabrics to make the quilt</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FdRhYet1cg8/UaqdlTygYyI/AAAAAAAACdY/Roel_L27Gr4/s1600/P5310021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FdRhYet1cg8/UaqdlTygYyI/AAAAAAAACdY/Roel_L27Gr4/s320/P5310021.JPG" width="302" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the second encouraging word quilt, stitched by WOCS members and the top was sewn by Peggy and quilted by me.. a true joint effort on this one</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-45CoxQ7QtPs/UaqdmuzURsI/AAAAAAAACdg/kSszdVo9qEY/s1600/P5310022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-45CoxQ7QtPs/UaqdmuzURsI/AAAAAAAACdg/kSszdVo9qEY/s320/P5310022.JPG" width="265" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The third quilt was one I made in honor of my Mother who lost her battle with cancer... Dru at AriZona Embroidery Barn Designs sent me the lovely pink ribbon butterflies set which is titled Tuff Enough... In honor of her Mom... the fabric came from a lady who I met at a yard sale she was having to raise money for her daughter who was going through Chemo for breast cancer.. A Loving tribute to those who have passed and those who are still fighting their battle against cancer..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Everyone who received one of the quilts today was truly touched, the one lady I saw wiping the tears from her eyes..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There was a breakfast, musical entertainment, and the Extension office brought in plants for the survivors to take home, they also handed out recipes and suggestions for healthy eating.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Door Prizes were given out and I won the garden bag. The bag held a bush tomato and a cherry tomato plant, garden gloves and a spade.. so you know what I will be doing tomorrow.. Planting more tomatoes..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now for our puppy news..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here they are today... Now if you look at the top photo and see the little sable puppy on the far right side, Now look at this photo and he is in front of the white puppy... YEP you are right he is so small, he has only gained .3 ozs since he was born.. he is the same size... his litter mates are all weighing in at 1 pound or more, but the little guy is less then 5ozs.. I have been so worried about the little guy, worried that the other puppies are not letting him nurse so I give him private time with his mom. I also am feeding him formula... He is strong and developmentally keeping up with the others as far as eyes opening, trying to walk etc, he just is not growing..<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_kCixLq7Gj8/UaqdpeeoMGI/AAAAAAAACeA/WMxIL-uLYcE/s1600/P5290016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_kCixLq7Gj8/UaqdpeeoMGI/AAAAAAAACeA/WMxIL-uLYcE/s320/P5290016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the little boy enjoying his bottle, and yes girls your dad is feeding the little guy..</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Memorial Day our other female delivered her puppies, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
all three are sable, and two weighed in at 4.5 ozs, the third puppy weighed in at 2.5</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
so here we go again... I am now wondering which one of my males are the father or if both of them are as one of my males is standard size and one is really small.. </div>

Monday one of our grand daughters will graduate from High School... I just know I will cry. They grow up so fast, where did the time go... This starts the graduation trend as I think we will have one almost every year for awhile... </div>

What a Mother's Day it was this year... Hubby had been sick all week, pulled a
muscle in his side from coughing so hard on Thursday, Friday he called Doctor's
office and was put on pain pills and told to make appt Monday if it wasn't any
better... Thursday was also the day that I felt really bad, yep I had caught
his cold. By Friday I was so sick and he was no better, We both took nighttime
cold meds hoping to get some sleep... but early Saturday morning the dogs
started barking and would not quiet down... So I let them out and went to find
our Roxy. I found her, and she was cleaning a puppy that she just delivered with
another one on its way... So I hurried and got her whelping box to her, the
puppy pads and other items for our early morning session... 5 hours later we had
6 puppies. Mom and babies settled down and were doing just fine and I headed
back to bed. <br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
6 cute little Pomeranian Puppies</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Hubby was planning to take me out for dinner on Mother's day, but that was
out so I got a IOU... Talked to the kids so glad they stayed away as I would not
wish this cold on any of them.. So my Mother's Day will take place at another
time...<br />
<br />
Monday we did head to the doctor's office and we both got med's.. a Z pack
for me and for him something stronger... Things are finally starting to get a
little better now that the med's are working. <br />
<br />
Now on to work on the quilts for the cancer center.... our group stitched
words of encouragement and the plan was to send to Sandy Hook Victims... we
found out that they were no longer wanting donations as they received so many/
It was decided that the quilts would go to a Cancer center.. They will be having
a event in June and the quilts will be presented at this event. So I just need
to finish them up. <br />

Hubby is back from Ohio safe and sound. But he did bring home a nasty cold, he has been fighting it all week. He has a fever, watery eye, cough, sore throat, the whole works. I have been running for meds for him and making tons of hot tea to soothe his throat, which helps a little. With his immune system being so weak I know it will take awhile for him to get over this cold. Then it hit ME, I had been doing so good, not a cold all season and when he got one I steered clear. But not this time, he managed to share the cold with me. So I am in the same boat as he with the sore throat, coughing and the whole works. I hate being sick... At least I managed to get most of the yard work done last week. <br />

<br />
Last weekend, I met up with Peggy, the co owner of the stitching group I belong to. I delivered the three baby quilts that I had finished and this week two were delivered to Ronald McDonald House and the third one along with a baby quilt from another member went to the abused women and children's shelter. I still have 9 quilts for the nursing home to finish and when I feel a little better I will get those finished and out of here so I can start on the new batch. Plus I now have some great patterns for making soft dolls and animals out of felt. My friend Dona has been making these type things along with puppets and capes for the children's hospital... Her sewing miles of smiles encourages people to sew and donate to their local hospital. So add another project to my list..<br />
<br />
On a happy note, last week the last of the puppies left here for their new forever home.. Both puppies have wonderful new families and I know they will be taken care of and so loved... They are two lucky pups.<br />
<br />
Well folks, that is about all for now, I think a hot bath, a cup of tea and a warm bed are in my future for today. We lost a family treasure this week, my husband's brother passed away unexpectedly. Chuck was the family Gourmet, the Wine Connoisseur, the Fisherman, the Advisor, the Handyman. He had a kind nature, a gentle man who was soft spoken. He gave encouragement to his daughters and grand children, encouraging them to take that step further in all they do. In times of family crisis he was the one who searched for answers, not stopping till he found them... He was a dutiful son, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Charles Coleman you will be missed by those you loved.. <br />

Well, at least for me to celebrate... I will be saying goodbye to the 50s and hello 60s. Where did the time go, I really never thought that I would reach this point in my life.. I remember just waiting to become a teenager. my 13th birthday was held at the skating rink, the year I had my sweet sixteen party... I had a dance party and even hired my friends band for the event. At 21 it was a birthday celebration out on the town..complete with hangover I might add. Then there was the year I turned 40 and came home to find my darling son had decorated the whole outside of my house with balloons, and signs announcing my age. Many birthdays have come and gone, some with lots of celebrating and some just slipped by so quietly... I wish my Mom or Dad would still be here to celebrate this milestone, but they are gone. So tomorrow I will celebrate my day with my husband. Maybe I will get a cake, maybe not.. No big celebration is planned, maybe we will go out for dinner or maybe we will wait for the weekend. In years past I have chosen my favorite cakes and posted here, and this year I have done the same...<br />

Spring has sprung in my area, the Azaleas are in bloom.. correction: some are in bloom, some bloomed earlier and as usual it rained and all those beautiful flowers are gone. I love the beauty of this area when the Azaleas bloom, I just wish they would last a little longer.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Robins were seen weeks ago in our yard, not one but MANY, they must have be stopping by on their way up north, guess they need a bath, something to eat and drink as they hit the feeder and birdbath pretty hard. Plus I have seen Mocking birds searching for places to build their nest. The birds in the area have also been raiding the pond area, just looking for the right building materials for their nests. I am also sure they are thanking our Poms for shedding their winter coats, as I brush the dogs outside and leave the fur in a basket which the birds raid. Gotta have a nice soft nest for their babies.. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q1DLRctUcVU/UVRQAC0ICJI/AAAAAAAACXU/_0_vxi5QLGE/s1600/882196_10151518539642022_981925323_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q1DLRctUcVU/UVRQAC0ICJI/AAAAAAAACXU/_0_vxi5QLGE/s320/882196_10151518539642022_981925323_o.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, I didn't bake any Easter Egg Cakes this year. Last year I made these to help my grand daughter out with a fund raiser for Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZYDkvRqIv88/UVRQBsi7ThI/AAAAAAAACXc/zL-sQ9vPi7Q/s1600/320115_10151142438212022_612509537_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZYDkvRqIv88/UVRQBsi7ThI/AAAAAAAACXc/zL-sQ9vPi7Q/s320/320115_10151142438212022_612509537_n.jpg" width="253" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But I did make some Easter Baskets for the grand kids, and I plan on making a Ham dinner for Easter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had grand plans of finishing up the grand kids quilts, but the stomach flu put a damper on getting those done this week.. So the new goal will be next week.. Maybe that is... you see next week I will be celebrating all week long as it is my last few days in the 50 category.. I guess next Thursday I officially become a Senior Citizen... WOW Senior Discounts here I come.. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am not quite sure how I will be celebrating.. I would love to have a huge party with lots of music and dancing and great food and friends just like we use to celebrate.. but my friends and most of my family are in PA or scattered all over the US.. So that is out.. So maybe a small gathering with the family that is here, or maybe not, maybe a lovely dinner at my favorite steak house or Red Lobster with my husband, that would be nice.. Maybe a special cake, I would just love to have one of the fabulous chocolate cakes from the German Bakery in Indianapolis.. They were always my favorite.. But that is impossible so maybe a trip to Publix bakery for one of their cakes or I might just make my own. Maybe a new longarm will show up at my door complete with frame, guess not.. but I can dream can't I. Maybe a new Brother Embroidery Machine might show up, Nope, hubby just bought me the Husqvarna machine. So maybe a gift certificate to one of my favorite embroidery design sites.. like Embroidery Library or AriZona Embroidery Barn, Maybe a Gift card to the Fat Quarter Shop, that would be nice too.. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
However I celebrate my birthday this year I am sure it will be quite special as I will be sharing my special day with the wonderful man I married..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
WAIT, I GOT IT,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The perfect 60s gift</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A pair of Rockers for my front porch</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
isn't that the way it is suppose to be, grandma and grandpa rocking the days away</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I Think NOT</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have to many things to do then just sit...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have a great Holiday and on April 4th think of me and splurge with a piece of cake I know I will</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_mWlh33kaho/UUfQLUrcJFI/AAAAAAAACWY/5JEge9JVla4/s1600/GetDynamicImage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_mWlh33kaho/UUfQLUrcJFI/AAAAAAAACWY/5JEge9JVla4/s1600/GetDynamicImage.jpg" /></a></div>
Years ago we bought a lovely bedroom suite and a mattress that we thought would be so comfortable. I don't recall which company made that mattress but it was a standard one with springs and padding and after a few years it sagged and my hubby said he was so uncomfortable. So off we went on a search for that comfortable mattress, which we found in a Tempur Pedic Celebrity.. Ours was the top of the line at the time, and it had what they called a padded or Pillow top, which was a 2" layer of the foam on top of the thick mattress. It was so comfy to sleep on, but over the years the stitching on the pillow top pulled loose and the side cording would pull and lay on the top of the bed, which I knew had to be uncomfortable to sleep on. But even though our mattress was under warranty, I kept putting off calling anyone as I just knew like most warranties that they would pro rate and we would have to pay a difference. I noticed that the mattress top had a zipper and my thought was to see if I could purchase a new cover making our mattress more comfortable. So I called and asked the lady who answered the phone if I could make that purchase and she said, but your mattress is still under warranty, let me connect you... Well, what a shock, the young lady in warranty dept. was so helpful and friendly, she told me our mattress qualified for a full exchange and what I needed to gather to start my claim. Thankfully I had placed the purchase receipt between the mattress and foundation as the salesman had told me to do.. I gathered the needed information that was listed in a email the warranty dept sent, took the pictures of the problem. Since my mattress was no longer made I was sent a list of mattresses that I could choose from.. I was told I could go to a local showroom and test the mattresses and choose which one I would like. I was told to check the Allura and the Cloud as they might be the closest to my mattress.. WE tested and WE choose the Cloud Luxe, This mattress gives you the feel of sleeping on a super soft bed, but yet is firm enough to support your body so comfortable.. I sent my email with all the information and pictures and within three days I had my answer. My Cloud was on the way, 4 days later a trucking company pulled up, and the gentlemen delivered my new mattress and took away the old set. WOW, was that so easy... I am so glad now that we invested in the Tempur Pedic Mattress, ou old mattress had a 20 year warranty, Mattresses are now being sold with a 25 year warranty... and they will make good on their warranty. Would I ever buy from Tempur Pedic again... or would I recommend Tempur Pedic.. without a doubt and I can not believe the customer service I received from the company.. GREAT JOB Tempur Pedic I also noticed that currently Tempur Pedic has interest free financing for 5 years.. so if you need a mattress set now might be the time to check into Tempur Pedic... <br />
<br />
OH and a little warning if you do buy a Tempur Pedic, there is one slight problem with the mattress... when it is first delivered you notice a new smell and it can be a little overpowering, I opened the windows and let the room and mattress air out.. two days and that smell is gone.. <br />
Now you ask am I being compensated for my review,<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
NOPE this is my experience with Tempur Pedic, I am not receiving anything in exchange for my post.. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The puppies are leaving home... The puppies are now 8 weeks old and today we made a trip to the Vet, the puppies were checked from nose to tail, they were poked and stuck and got a manicure. All are healthy and ready to go to their forever homes. The little blue merle left right after our appt. His new mommy was waiting in the parking lot, he will be the playmate of another of our puppies that Timmy got for his wife, which means this is one lucky puppy.. Jackie will make sure to spoil both puppies, I mean after all she got Mario a playmate named Wilson..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He was my favorite little boy from this litter but I know he has a fantastic home with Tim and Jackie..</div>
